Dance Camp
Saturday,
August 15 - Wednesday, August 19, 2009
Music
Camp is a great opportunity to get a head start on college life. Dance
Team members attend camp and prospective dancers (freshmen, sophomores,
juniors, and seniors) are also encouraged to attend. For freshmen this
is a GREAT opportunity to learn your way around campus and buy your
books before the lines get unbearably long. It is also a great chance to
move in before the rush and meet people that share similar interests to
you. And, of course, perform for a week with other talented Villanovans.
For some, this is an opportunity to explore performing organizations
that they didn’t have time for in high school. For others, it is a
continuation of their musical/dance/theatre experience.
Camp
allows you to see what the dance team is all about. Each day consists of
eating breakfast together as a group and then dancing the day away! We
have a stretching session at the beginning of each day followed by
learning dance routines and dance technique. We break for lunch and then
continue dancing. We also have nightly activities planned, such as:
shopping at the King of Prussia Mall, going to the movies, traveling
into Philadelphia, etc.
No
experience is necessary with the exception of the instrumental groups.
There is no cost to participate in Music Camp other than the extra
activities you may choose be involved in. We will arrange for your early
housing and meals at no cost.
Music
Camp happens the week prior to New Student Orientation in August of each
year. Registration for Music Camp begins in the Spring of each year. So,
if we have piqued your interest, make a note to return to this page in
the Spring when registration information will be available.
If
you need more information, call the Office of Music Activities at
