Shalom & Welcome to the Official Website of

VILLANOVA HILLEL

The mission of Villanova Hillel is to enhance the religious and cultural lives of Jewish students attending Villanova Hillel, and to serve as a learning tool for non-Jewish students. We strive to uphold our mission through Jewish events, such as holiday get-togethers, campus speakers, and learning experiences, such as stump the rabbi sessions. Although we are a group designed for Jewish students, we accept students of all religions.

Please refer to the links above to access the complete Villanova Hillel website. There is also important information listed below on this homepage.

Unfortunately, Villanova is unable to provide Jewish religious services on campus. However, within the immediate area, there are several synagogues students can attend for worship. Please contact Rebecca.Winer@villanova.edu for more information.

Villanova University has developed a policy concerning absences from classes and exams, and missed due dates on assignments because of religious holidays (p.85):

"Students who expect to miss a class or assignment due to the observance of a religious holiday should discuss the matter with their professors as soon as possible, normally at least two weeks in advance…. Faculty, if possible, should try to accommodate students with make-up tests or exams if the absence falls on a day when these tests are being administered and/or provide students with reasonable alternative opportunities to complete their academic assignments.”

For more information concerning this policy, please review the Villanova Blue Book: http://www.villanova.edu/studentlife/assets/documents/dean/pdf/studenthandbook_07-08.pdf

For any questions concerning curriculum, such as theology requirements, please contact Rebecca Winer at 610-519-7255 or Rebecca.Winer@villanova.edu.
