Upcoming Meetings and Events

Everyone have a FUN and SAFE summer.  Thanks for a great year for SAMOSA!  We look forward to seeing everyone in the Fall.

Check back towards the end of summer for details on upcoming events and Bigs and Littles for next year.

What is SAMOSA?

SAMOSA is a cultural group based out of Villanova University. It is an undergraduate student organization dedicated to promoting cultural unity among its members and the Villanova University community.

Working with the many other cultural organizations here at Villanova and alongside cultural groups based out of surrounding schools, we strive to:

  • Educate and increase awareness of South Asian cultures.

  • Provide for an environment in which students can explore and learn about their heritage.

  • To give support to incoming South Asian students at Villanova University.

Every year SAMOSA plans and holds Diwali, a cultural show attracting over 700 people. Through this show, we strive to educate and make aware our audience to traditions and folklore that make us who we are.

SAMOSA sponsors a multitude of events geared at achieving the above goals. Some main events of the year include:

Diwali Cultural show

Holi

Movie Nights

SAMOSA Picnic

SAMOSA's Streetball Tournament

In addition to providing a multitude of events on campus, SAMOSA is also involved in sponsoring a young boy through Children's International. SAMOSA helps to provide donations for this special young boy in India named Rahul Das. Money provided to this cause helps Rahul's family pay for his food, clothing and the tools necessary for a proper education.  During our Annual Diwali program, SAMOSA will have a booth that will accept monetary donation as aide for Rahul Das and his family.
