Frequently Asked Questions

Megan Quigley & Laura CzyzewskiPractices

During football season in the fall, we generally have one practice a week and an additional rehearsal on the turf before game day. We try to help new members adjust to balancing college life and extracurricular activities.

During basket ball season (primarily in the spring), we generally have practice twice a week. This gives us time to learn and practice new dances more often.

Team Bonding

Aside from performances, we participate in team building activities. We have team dinners, shopping trips, and holiday activities (including secret Santa and secret cupid!).

Wildcat DancersMusic Camp

The week before orientation, all music activities groups have workshops for interested new members. Attending this week does not require that you join, but it is a good way to get to know other members. This year it runs from Friday, August 17th, to Wednesday, August 22nd. Early housing and meals are provided at no additional cost!

Music camp unifies the team and benefits individual members. By spending the week together before classes begin, we get a chance to practice our techniques as well as getting to know each other on a personal level. Also, returning members are useful resources for new students.  Advice from experienced students offers insight into life in college. Access to upperclassmen with cars allows new students to attend off campus activities more freely. Early access to the bookstore and knowledge of the campus are also advantages of attending.

If there are any other questions, see our contact info page.

Choreography Policy

We encourage all members to express ideas for new dance moves. Dances are choreographed primarily outside of practice by one or two members. This gives anyone interested an opportunity to contribute to the team.

Dues

Each new member contributes $60 at the beginning of the season for team expenses during the year. Returning members contribute $30 in the fall of each year.
